Digital Content Manager – Washington, DC


Our client is growing its digital presence. We are exploring new types of digital content and outreach strategies to ensure our message and opportunities to engage and work with us are reaching our target audiences.

The Digital Content Manager’s primary roles and responsibilities will be to manage and support the development of content across website and social media accounts to create a cohesive, branded, and engaging digital experience. The ideal candidate will be technically savvy and comfortable developing and producing a variety of content (copy, infographics, video) from the idea stage through publication in collaboration with engagement, project management, policy, and IT teams alongside external developers and graphic designers. The Digital Content Manager will be a part of our Strategic Communications Team, which leverages media, speaking engagements, thought leadership, and digital content to build and maintain identity as the premiere Department of Defense organization focused exclusively on delivering advanced commercial solutions to the U.S. military.


  • Maintain ownership of the quality and consistency of our web standards, content, and structure
  • Responsible for day-to-day content management of the website and social media accounts (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube)
  • Build content into our content management system (Contentful); test and deploy into production
  • Think strategically about our users and web presence and build new features, capabilities, or pages in collaboration with external developers (when required) to support mission execution
  • Collaborate with IT and external developers to monitor/troubleshoot the performance of the website tech stack
  • Produce and edit video, such as virtual event recordings, and podcast content for multiple channels (website, YouTube, Acast, Spotify, iTunes, etc.)
  • Collect and analyze website (via Google Analytics) and social media performance data to ensure alignment between digital content and communications strategies and business goals
  • Track media hits, including media hits by members of the team
  • Support basic graphic design or branding requests and/or collaborate with external designers to produce new design assets as required (banners, icons, marketing collateral, templates, etc.)
  • Take initiative to problem solve and help implement new standards and best practices for digital content and marketing strategies

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business administration, web development, or related field or applicable experience
  • 3+ years related experience
  • Knowledge of best practices for UX, social media, SEO, and online lead development strategies
  • Technically familiar with HTML, CSS, or other front-end web-related languages
  • Experience working in Google Suite and the Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop in particular)
  • Ability to consider different ways to tackle a problem and weigh the pros/cons of each
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to iterate quickly while incorporating feedback from multiple sources


  • Experience creating content for defense and/or technology audiences
  • Video editing experience
  • Knowledge of graphic design or branding principles
  • Ability to interpret website traffic and analytics via the Google Analytics platform
